My preferred style of portrait photography is very relaxed. I do find it very helpful to spend some time getting to know my client - the more relaxed we are with each other the better the clients will come across in the pictures – and also find it works well if the client chooses where to shoot the portraits, whether that’s at home, in the park or elsewhere.

As an aside, I also do fashion photography, so if a very staged image is what you’re after, it’s not a problem! I always bring studio photography equipment with me to give the client more of a choice of the style of photography.
